The art and science of distilling is a process that relies on the four elements of earth, air, water, and fire; and embodies the very meaning of Aromatic Alchemy.

Aromatic Alchemy Hydrosols are artisan distilled hydrolats, or often called floral waters, distilled in our copper Alembic and Alquitar stills. We grow and harvest our botanicals for the purpose of distilling organic and aromatic rich waters.

Hydrosols are different from essential oils in that hydrosols are the water loving (hydrophilic) components of the plant that are extracted through the distillation process. Compare to the essential oils that are the fat loving (lipophilic) components that are extracted during the distillation process. These two individual products are the result of a steam and/or hydro distillation.

Following Seasons Botanicals offer a range of hydrosols that are native to the southern California’s ecosystem, and wild crafted with the highest level of skill in identification and wild harvest ethics. We also organically grow many herbs that make wonderful hydrosols, such as our Bulgarian and French lavender, rosemary and geranium.

Aromatic Alchemy Hydrosols can be used as refreshing toning and cleansing agents on their own, or used in place of water in any aromatherapy practice.
